What do I mean when I say that there's no such thing as "victim?" Well, I mean exactly that! I learned this for myself while I was living with a HIGHLY abusive man. This man beat me up on a regular basis, and I really thought I was his victim. Right up until I learned that, regardless of what he was doing to me, I did not have to FEEL like I was his victim. In fact, I turned that whole situation on its head when I figured this one thing out for myself. I decided I wanted to feel empowered AND I did not want to die at his hands, and since leaving him again would have gotten me killed, I did the empowerment work while I remained in that relationship. That was the bravest thing I've ever done in my life... to stay in that relationship and change myself from the inside out. As I did that, over the course of nine months I became the empowered person in that relationship, and he was completely flipped out. At that point I knew I had to leave, or I was going to be murdered by a man who claimed to love me. And so I did. I made a HUGE leap of faith, and 21 days later I was living a whole new life.
